ABOUT MAKE SOME NOISE
What happens when individual and groups of young people from across Canada take action and become the change they want to see in the world? Make Some Noise. This is a 13-part half hour series showcasing teens and 20-somethings who will stop at nothing to make themselves heard. Some pick up video cameras and risk their lives in the war-torn Middle East, others fight to stop the child sex trade in Cambodia, while others become silent to "speak" out for those who cannot. Meet a group of kids who not only talk about making a difference but are actually doing something.
BEHIND MAKE SOME NOISE
Make Some Noise is filmed uniquely, part music video, part guerilla filmmaking, and part behind-the-scenes glimpses into a world most of us never knew existed. Telling their own stories in a unique style, young people candidly share their fears, triumphs and challenges and visions. Make Some Noise has a soundtrack that is completely in tune with the stories told and has more than 60 original songs from 30 Canadian bands. The music, the stories and the people demand your attention and make every moment meaningful. The series airs on CBC.
THE JURY SPEAKS!
"Make Some Noise is an awesome show. It is very powerful, in the things they say and do, and inspire others to do. The script / storyline is fantastic."
"There is a great sense about Make Some Noise, it is a non-patronizing program for its age group. The program is very much in-tune with how young people watch TV because it has short segments that are rolled together with high production values. And of course, the stories chosen were stories that really needed to be told."

A WORD FROM PRODUCER HEATHER HAWTHORN-DOYLE
Make Some Noise was a 'heart' project for everyone who worked on it - a true labour of love. From the beginning we were enthused and humbled by the idea that if we do this right - if we showcase young Canadians doing great things for and around the world - and we do it in a way that resonates with them - with powerful music, great characters and a distinctive style - maybe some of the kids watching will be inspired to do something special themselves. We showcased 30 young Canadians who are ordinary humans doing extraordinary things. What a privilege to help them tell their stories.
For me personally - as a mom of teenagers - it was an honour to work on a series that showed teenagers the way they really are - and that told the stories the news headlines forgot - these guys are going to change the world - for the better - and they're not going to wait for an adult to lead the way!

Canada is respected around the world for excellence in children's and youth programming, so the Rocket Prize means recognition at the world class level. The buzz and excitement created by the Rocket Prize's publicity team is a very valuable visibility boost for all the projects and the companies involved and the great cross section of programs honoured as finalists means that whether we win or lose we are thrilled to be chosen as a finalist.
