PROFILE

SYNAPSE FLASH

Fred Leblanc’s quirky explorations of the innermost reaches of the male teenage mind reveal the gloriously irreverent, animated universe of FRED’S HEAD, with its sarcastic perceptiveness, its wacky humour and its imaginative tackling of real-life issues.

Fred’s Head is an irreverent and provocative comedy bringing us into the whirlwind life of Fred Leblanc, a bright and perceptive 16 year old, through his teenage eyes. Rampant consumerism, stardom and marginalisation are some of the issues with which Fred will struggle to come to terms....with all of the sarcasm his off-the-wall imagination can muster.

GET INSPIRED BY THE JURY

"I thought the animation in Fred’s Head was really great. I loved the characters and how exaggerated they were, the way they talked, and acted was really funny, it made the story more interesting. They tried making the characters speak in a way that people our age could understand."

Michelle, Grade 8, Calgary
Student Juror

"What makes Fred’s Head unique is that it comes from the vantage point of a younger teenage boy. Let’s face it, there aren’t a lot of programs out there that do that."

Geoffrey Goodwin, Head of BBC Switch, UK
International Juror

ANDRÉ A. BÉLANGER, PRODUCER
