How She Move is an energetic and ultimately inspiring coming of age tale about a gifted young woman who defies all the rules as she step dances her heart out to achieve her dreams. THE LOWDOWN FROM THE JURY...

"This is one of the best movies I've ever seen. The actors were really good and enthusiastic. I loved the camera angles because when they were dancing it really made me think I was there with them. It really kept my interest and I just loved it :)"

Joyce, Grade 8, Toronto
Student Juror

"How She Move was a coming-of-age story but done in such a different way. To combine the coming-of-age story of this young girl with street culture and performing arts was just incredibly powerful. It was a fantastic feature and one of the most original dance movies I think I've ever seen."

Deirdre Brennan, Director of Programming,
Nicklelodeon, Australia
International Juror

THE HOW SHE MOVE CREW

"Innovation means creating film and television that is real and that reflects young people's experiences and lives, regardless of race, ethnicity, class or gender. Often many children are left out of this representation, so it's critical to keep that in mind when creating programming like How She Move."
