PROFILE
ABOUT In Real Life
In the exciting new reality series In Real Life, eighteen kids - aged 12-14 - race across North America and compete in a series of thrilling real-life tasks to discover the skills, strength, and stamina it takes to make it in the real world! Part heart-pounding race, part intense skill competition, each contestant must avoid elimination by winning a variety of hands-on challenges that range from the ultra glamorous to the ultra disgusting to the ultra dare-devil. From super-fact NASCAR racing and outrageous Hollywood stunts, to learning to use the Jaws of Life, comedian Sabrina Jalees leads the kids through each mind-blowing challenge. The ultimate goal? College tuition money plus an all expense paid family vacation.

FUN FACTS! THE HOST: SABRINA JALEES
Sabrina Jalees' passion and drive have taken the comedy world by storm. Since she set foot on the Yuk Yuk's stage for the first time at 16, she has been the youngest stand-up ever added to their professional roster. She later broke Mike Meyer's record for being the youngest artist hired by Second City! She has performed at the Just for Laughs Festival, recorded a Comedy NOW special for CTV and has toured across North America and England.
A TOUCH OF SABRINA'S HUMOUR
"It's an absolute honour to have our show nominated for the Shaw Rocket Prize!..to think I was once just a child, eating rocket candies and watching Shaw cable...Makes me tear up."
THE SEASON 1 WINNER GIVES HER THOUGHTS
"In Real Life was an epic journey that pushed me to my limits and demanded the best of me. Through the tears and the laughter and the joy, I found in myself an inner strength I will carry forever. I am humbled to have experienced such support and encouragement from the crew, and to have been challenged in exciting new ways by my fellow competitors. A special acknowledgement to Ben, who stood by my side and carried me through the competition, believing in me when I didn't believe in myself. Although it has been two and a half years since my In Real Life journey began, I often look back to treasure and learn from those incredible adventures."
THE INTERNATIONAL JURY SPEAKS
"In Real Life is aspirational, competitive reality programming that excites and inspires by showing real kids engaging in a broad array of challenges - from kids wrestling with alligators to flying jet airplanes, this series empowers its audience with great role models."
THE PRODUCER'S THOUGHTS
"The size of the Shaw Rocket Prize gets my attention, and the top-tier nominating judges add to its prestige, which is why our nomination for the Shaw Rocket Prize is so exciting. But more importantly, the Prize focuses worldwide attention on the high standards and original productions coming out of Canada. And you can't argue about who most deserves the Prize, because the ultimate judges are the very people we aim to please! I am, needless to say, thrilled to have our series among the nominees this year."
