ABOUT SURVIVE THIS SEASON 2
Survive This is an exciting series that challenges youth to push their limits, overcome their fears and develop lifelong survival skills. Hosted by Les Stroud (a.k.a. "Survivorman"), each episode aims to test endurance, wit and self-determination.
Eight teenagers, aged 14 to 17, are sent to Survival School and are then thrust into various survival challenges over the course of the 13-episode series. After Stroud gives the group some direction, they are left to their own devices to build a shelter, find food, water, and make fire… all while exposed to the harsh North American wilderness. The challenges get more and more demanding as the series progresses, forcing the group to be innovative and courageous, applying the skills that Stroud taught them. After each survival challenge Stroud offers guidance and feedback. He asks each participant: "Who wants out?" This gives each the opportunity to end his or her journey and head back to the comforts of home.
Les challenges the eight participants physically, emotionally and mentally – placing them in situations of intense pressure where their lives are put on the line. The result? Emotions run wild, alliances form and conflicts erupt as the participants get to know each other. From a dramatic start to a powerful finish, the participants learn that if they can make it through this, they can make it through anything!
Survive This is the journey of a lifetime. It's the ULTIMATE wilderness adventure that changes the lives of eight teenagers forever.

LEARNING WITH SURVIVAL SCHOOL
Before meeting up with Les the eight participants were sent to Survival School for three days in a "summer camp" like setting. Here they learned from wilderness expert and Les' own mentor, David Arama, basic survival skills like how to build a shelter, start a fire, find food, purify water, first aid and mental conditioning. They also went through endurance training and learned special skills, like navigation, that would be beneficial throughout their experience.
