ABOUT WIBBLY PIG
Wibbly Pig is an animated preschool comedy series that takes the daily routine of a young child and finds humor and fun in every part of it. From day to day activities like getting into bed, to fantasy play like going to the moon, Wibbly turns the simplest tasks into a comedy routine, sharing it with his very best friend - the viewer.
Based on the hugely successful Wibbly Pig books by Mick Inkpen, which have sold over 2.2 million copies worldwide, the series manages to capture the magic and gorgeous look of the books. Wibbly engages the viewer by talking directly to the camera. This makes the viewer feel safe, included, involved and most of all, important.
With highly regarded Creative and Educational Consultants onboard to ensure age-appropriate learning in every episode, preschoolers will gain a variety of skills including:
- Early Academics: colors, shapes, numbers via preschool activities.
- Social Skills: interactivity with the viewer and friends
- Imaginative Play: springboards and inspirational ideas to fire-up children's play and imaginations
Learning will also be reinforced through song in every episode.
THE VOICE BEHIND WIBBLY PIG: LIAM TULLY
11-year-old Liam Tully played the voice of Wibbly Pig and often describes it as the highlight of his career. Since then Liam has moved on to do voice work for Franklin and hopes to do a movie one day. When asked what his favourite part of acting on Wibbly was he said, "Is it OK to say the catered lunches?"
Liam also loved the singing he had to do on the show and says it’s one thing he has in common with Wibbly, "... like Wibbly I have a propensity to burst into song at the drop of a hat. I guess we're different in shape though. I'm pretty skinny!"
When he’s not acting Liam is usually on the ice playing hockey, his first love. Liam is very happy and honoured that Wibbly Pig is a Shaw Rocket Prize Finalist, "I feel very, very special," he says.
