2008 ROCKET PRIZE WINNER

Since winning the Rocket Prize, Life With Derek has entered its fourth season and continues to be a huge ratings success, airing on The Family Channel in Canada, the Disney Channel in the U.S., and in some 115 countries and 19 languages worldwide.

For "everyone in the trenches who works so hard to bring Life With Derek to the screen," winning the 2008 Rocket Prize equalled an "official pat on the back," says Suzanne French, one of the show's producers. “Kid comedy is so rarely recognized in any official way ... So the validation that the prize gave our show and what we do has been really terrific,” adds French.

Galvanized by their Rocket Prize success, French and her fellow producers at Shaftesbury Films have gone on to create more fabulous programming for kids across Canada, including Overruled (now entering its second season on Family Channel) and Connor Undercover (to air March 2010, Family Channel).
